Dayspring Community Church, Canterbury started life in 1999, as London Road Community Church, supported by members of Barton Evangelical Church. Since then we’ve developed our own ministry and identity and became an independent church in 2008.
Our Name
Dayspring is a name for our Saviour Jesus, Luke 1:77-79 (AV):
77To give knowledge of salvation unto his
people by the remission of their sins,
78Through the tender mercy of our God;
whereby the dayspring from on high
has visited us,
79To give light to them that sit in darkness
and in the shadow of death, to guide our
feet into the way of peace.
Our Vision
The context of the passage is a prophecy of salvation.
Dayspring, as a church, will be a place where:
Salvation is known through the forgiveness of sins.
The mercy of God is experienced.
Christ visits and dwells with his people through His Spirit.
Those in darkness discover the Way of Peace through the Light of the Word of God.
